Product Description

The IC693CMM311 offloads serial communications for Series 90-30 modular CPUs, adding flexible connectivity for HMIs, SCADA, and third-party devices. It provides two serial ports through a single front connector: Port 1 (RS-232) and Port 2 (RS-232 or RS-485)—split using the IC693CBL305 Wye cable. Supported protocols include GE Fanuc CCM, SNP, and Modbus RTU (slave); configuration can be done in software, or you can start from a default setup. The module cannot be used with embedded CPUs (models 311/313/323). Systems with a 331-class or higher CPU can install up to four CMM311 modules in the CPU baseplate. Typical backplane load is ~400 mA @ +5 V. Typical uses: SCADA/HMI serial links, device gateways, Modbus-RTU instrument integration, and adding extra/isolated serial ports without changing the CPU.
