Product Description

The ABB SACE Tmax T1 is the small-frame member of the classic Tmax T MCCB family. It covers applications up to a 160 A frame with 3-pole or 4-pole constructions, compliant with IEC 60947-2 and typical system voltages up to 690 V AC. Select the proper breaking-capacity code—T1B / T1N / T1S / T1H—to match your available fault current, and choose the TMD thermal-magnetic trip rating that fits your circuit. The T1 supports fixed or plug-in mounting (kit-dependent), front rotary handles, auxiliary contacts, shunt/undervoltage releases, terminal shrouds, and motor operators, making it easy to integrate in switchboards and control panels. If you’re modernizing, T1 is commonly replaced like-for-like or migrated to the newer Tmax XT1 platform; check dimensions, terminals, and trip selections before swapping.

Frequent asked questions

Does T1 offer electronic trip units?

T1 is typically supplied with TMD thermal-magnetic trips. If you need advanced LSI/LSIG functions and wider settings, consider moving to Tmax XT1 with Ekip electronic trips or a larger T-frame that supports electronic units.

What’s the difference between T1B, T1N, T1S, and T1H?

They are breaking-capacity classes. Each code specifies a different Icu/Ics at common voltages (e.g., 400/415/440/690 V). Pick a class that exceeds your calculated fault level with margin.

Migration: T1 → XT1

Common in modernization. Check dimensions, terminal positions, accessories, and protection settings. Use ABB’s retrofit/migration guidance to ensure mechanical and electrical equivalence.
