Product Description

The ABB S202 extends the System pro M compact S200 range to two poles for applications that require simultaneous switching/isolating of phase + neutral or two phases. It combines a thermal element for overload with a magnetic element for short-circuit protection, available in B/C/D characteristics across common ratings (6…63 A, variant-dependent). Typical IEC breaking capacity for S200 is up to 6 kA at 230/400 V AC; where fault levels are higher, choose S200M/S200P high-breaking versions or coordinate with upstream current-limiting devices. The S202 supports ABB’s bottom-fitting auxiliaries (OF/SD, shunt, UVT), comb busbars, and standard 35 mm DIN-rail mounting—making it a drop-in for residential, commercial, and industrial control panels.

When should I choose a 2-pole MCB instead of 1-pole?

Use 2-pole when you must switch/isolates phase and neutral together (single-phase circuits) or protect two-phase supplies. It also simplifies maintenance isolation.

How do I pick B / C / D curves?

B: resistive/low-inrush loads; C: mixed loads and small motors; D: high-inrush loads (transformers/large motors). Always check selectivity with upstream protection.

What if my available fault current exceeds 6 kA?

Choose ABB S200M/S200P high-breaking variants or ensure upstream devices limit fault current so the S202’s Icn isn’t exceeded.
