Product Description

Emax 2 E1.2 is ABB’s most compact air circuit breaker (ACB) for low-voltage switchboards where footprint and performance both matter. In the IEC range, E1.2 reaches up to 1600 A with breaking capacity up to 66 kA and short-time withstand 50 kA/1s; in the UL/ANSI range, it reaches up to 1200 A with typical ~65 kA interrupting capability—choose per market and standard. Trip options include Ekip Dip/Touch/Hi-Touch/G to implement LS/I, LSI, LSIG protections and advanced energy functions. Mounting can be fixed or withdrawable with accessories such as rotary handles, motor operators, aux contacts, shunt/undervoltage releases and front terminals; configuration and accessory set are common across the Emax 2 family.

Frequent asked questions

Why do some sources list 1200 A and others 1600 A for E1.2?

That’s regional/standard: ABB’s IEC E1.2 reaches up to 1600 A, while UL/ANSI E1.2 reaches up to 1200 A. Select the catalog line that matches your market.

Which Ekip trip should I choose—Dip, Touch, or G?

Ekip Dip covers core LS/I needs; Ekip Touch/Hi-Touch add wider settings and metering; Ekip G adds ground-fault (LSIG). Pick based on coordination, metering, and protection functions required.

Fixed vs. withdrawable—what’s the difference?

Withdrawable frames enable rapid isolation/replacement without disturbing cables—ideal for uptime-critical switchboards. Fixed frames save cost and depth where service access is less critical. (Both are supported across Emax 2 with compatible accessories.)
